@Bernhard Koenig Are you running Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit? Apparently that's the reason that Opera is not appearing for me since they only offer 9.27 and x86_64 builds were released with Opera 9.5+.
For now it seems you'll just have to manually download Opera from opera.com, but you can read some discussion on this topic here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=952001 I'm not sure exactly what is talking this so long to get corrected or if anyone is even looking into this problem.
