I just tested.
please do the following:
* Install the application 'exif' to check the data
* exif PICTURENAME
* gwenview PICTURENAME
* rotate and save
* exif PICTURENAME again
For me the 2nd exif PICTURENAME looks exactly like the first, only the
size of inline preview image differs (which indicates that the image was
edit properly).
