Hey, I can confirm the problems running Ubuntu 8.10 on a Dell Latitude D830 with a GMA 965. Frame rates in glxgears are just at about 600 fps, Google Earth shows distorted images (like in the screenshots of the earlier bug reports), Compiz works okay as long as one does not try to move a window over a running glxgears for example, KDE performance with 3D effects is very bad.
