No, there were no kernel uploads between then and release, and in any
case the hd-media images are always updated simultaneously with cdrom
and netboot so we would definitely have noticed if they had out-of-sync
kernels.
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/intrepid/main/installer-i386/current/images/MANIFEST.udebs
clearly indicates that the hd-media images are using the correct kernel
ABI.
Could you check that you are really using current images, and if so then
could you elaborate a bit more on your exact setup?
