I solved this by doing the following: I installed the legacy binaries for hidd (look for hidd in synaptic), removed both devices from gnome bluetooth applet, connected them both with hidd --connect btaddr, synced them again to gnome bluetooth and restarted. Now it works on every reconnect. But ubuntu should have a better solution for this, since legacy drivers will eventually dissapear.. :/
