Nevermind - looked at the patch and I see that the build rules in
question don't look at $LDFLAGS. :( Ok, will sponsor this merge,
thanks.
Could this patch be generalized and sent upstream to Debian, perhaps by
using $LDFLAGS instead of hard-coding the linker option?
