I am experiencing exactly the same issue (same backtrace). Booting Ubuntu 8.10 amd64 (kernel 2.6.27-7) from a USB stick and then copying a whole 250GB device from an internal HDD to a file on an eSATA HDD formatted with XFS.
The backtrace occurred 276 times in /var/log/messages but the resulting file was not damaged.
