I have what appears the same problem with Hardy on my Dell Inspiron 1525 with an Intel GM965 using the internal LCD screen (1280x800). My hardy installation is up-to-date and my xserver-xorg-video-intel version is 2:2.2.1-1ubuntu13.8. I have apport installed & running, but there seem to be no files in /var/crash/.
