Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: usb-creator

Steps to create problem:

1) I burned a copy of Apr-20-2009's daily-live build (Jaunty) onto a CD then
booted from it.
2) I then reformated my 4GB OCZ Rally 2 Turbo USB Drive to Fat32.
3) Using a separate ISO of the Apr-20 Jaunty build, I tried creating a
persistent live USB with the usb-creator.
4) At 17%, right when the program begins to write the persistent filesystem,
usb-creator finishes immediately and successfully without writing the
persistence files.

Check) I confirmed that the OCZ usb works fine, but is NOT persistent
after rebooting.

The peculiarity in this bug is that when I tried with the above steps with my
two Kingston Datatravelers (1GB and 2GB), the entire process works fine and the
resulting usb's are both persistent. Thus I conclude that this issue is
specific to the brand of usb.

Notes:

1) When running the usb-creator, the program starts to write the
persistent files at different times (different % completed) depending on
the usb drive being written to. Probably just due to the different sizes
of the drives.

2) The OCZ turbo finished the process extremely fast. I don't know if
speed has anything to do with this problem.

3) The same problem occurs when writing different ISO's to the OCZ drive
(Release Candidate, Apr-18 daily-live, Apr-19 daily-live)
