Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs
I try to open the volume control and two error messages come up: The volume control did not find any elements and/or devices to control. This means either that you don't have the right GStreamer plugins installed, or that you don't have a sound card configured. No volume control GStreamer plugins and/or devices found. $ aplay -l aplay: device_list:215: no soundcards found... $ find /lib/modules/`uname -r` | grep snd find /lib/modules/`uname -r`: No such file or directory I try this too but it doesn't seem to make a difference: $ sudo aptitude install linux-ubuntu-modules-`uname -r` linux-generic $ lspci -v | less 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) Subsystem: Acer Incorporated (ALI) Device 013e Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 11 Memory at d8800000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel modules: snd-hda-intel ** Affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Volume control error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367156 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
