** Description changed: On some sony vaio laptops xbacklight 1.1-1 (latest release) on Ubuntu 8.1 detects no display with a backlight. I have a Sony Vaio vgn fw290 with an ati graphics card which cannot have its backlight settings changed. I expected that querying xbacklight would allow me to change my backlight brightness but it does not detect my display properly. Please ask me for anymore information. + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Memory Controller Hub [8086:2a40] (rev 07) + Subsystem: Sony Corporation Device [104d:9035] + 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc Mobility Radeon HD 3650 [1002:9591] + Subsystem: Sony Corporation Device [104d:9035]
