I see. You can find out which package installed a certain file by running "dpkg 
-S <filename>", e.g. in your case:
dpkg -S /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/20-ntfs-config-write-policy.fdi

if it doesn't return anything, it was probably installed outside the the
dpkg package management system, i.e. from source...

dxdemetriou, can we consider this bug closed? as you see, ntfs-config
was not at fault
