Similarly to the issues raise in bug #372385 I have found out gnome desktop environment (version 2.26.1) is a dependency when removing epiphany-browser-data, epiphany-extensions, epiphany-gecko, cups-client via synaptic manager version 0.62.5.
Furthermore if you try to remove libcups2 package, the following packages are classed as dependency adobe-flashplugin, alacarte, apport- gtk, at-spi, bluez-gnome, brasero, compiz,dasher, deskbar-applet ,desktop-base,ekiga, empathy,eog,epiphany -extensions, epiphany-gecko, evince, evolution, firefox 3.0,foomatic-db-engine, gcalctool, gconf- editior,ddebi, gdm, gedit, ghostscript,gimp,gksu, gnome, gnome-core, gnome-desktop-enviroment, tomboy,synapic and many more lib packages. As you can see from the large list of dependencies this is quite a big problem. I hope this information is usefully.
