For all others not willing to wait: download from my PPA. Just put following into you apt sources file:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/tohms/bugfixes/ubuntu jaunty main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/tohms/bugfixes/ubuntu jaunty main Update cache and than splashy.
