I have also tried to send the job into a queue with a PostScript PPD
from HP (LaserJet 3390) and I also got a correct printout.
Can you tell which Ubuntu release you are using, which driver you are
using, whether it was selected automatically (and which Ubuntu release
you were using when setting up the print queue)? Can you also attach the
PPD file of your printer (/etc/cups/ppd/hp_LaserJet_1300.ppd)?
