Similar to bug 348200 (also reported by me), but now on Karmic (and not Jaunty).
I cannot say however until now, if hibernation would normally work for me -
IIRC this was the first time I've tried it after upgrading.
Hibernation has taken more than ~5 minutes and I was in a hurry,
therefore I've rebooted - maybe it would have worked out, after some
more minutes.
However, then the bug would be unusual long duration of the wakeup
process.
