Public bug reported: I am using 9.04. uname -a says: Linux arturo 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:57:59 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
I can lockup my machine by executing a long (> 15 mn) compilation (it saturates the processor). Before 10-15 mn max, the machine locks up completely. The caps lock LED starts blinking, and the computer does not respond (even to Alt-SysRq). I could trigger this reliably 5 times in a row. This seems to leave nothing in the logs. However, I have a photo of the "kernel BUG" output on the console, that I will attach. I have just updated my BIOS, hoping that it could make things better, but it does not.
