Hi there, thanks for the report.
Can you give me a bit more information about your setup?
1) Were you running 9.04, and upgraded to 9.10?
2) If so, did you have byobu from a PPA installed, and then tried to upgrade it
to a version from the 9.10 repositories?
3) Are you able to resolve the issue by removing and reinstalling byobu?
4) Do you have the byobu PPA enabled?
