Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kwin
In the Kwin configuration -> Desktop Effects -> All Effects I don't have an "Effect" that has anything to do with kwin recording. I know it is supposed to be there because it was in the last version of kde ( and hence kubuntu ) that i tried. It is also mentioned a lot on the Internet. In trying to get to the bottom of this i have noticed that libcaptury was not installed by default in my system, which is odd because a Kwin developer i was talking to said that it is a requirement for the recording "Effect" Does this mean that kwin was built without it? And if so is there any way to get it in as a plugin library? considering that any recordmydesktop based system simply does not work with kwin/kde nowadays i would suspect that this issue should be put on a reasonably high priority as there is NO method to screencast in Kubuntu, that is if this is not an isolated incident. I am using Ubuntu 9.04 and i have installed the Kubuntu desktop by doing an "apt-get install kubuntu-deskop" ** Affects: kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Kubuntu Bugs (kubuntu-bugs) Status: New ** Changed in: kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Kubuntu Bugs (kubuntu-bugs) -- kwin desktop recording "effect" missing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/389257 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
