Thanks for the testing and the feedback. This indeed sounds promising.
The kernel for Karmic is going to target the upstream 2.6.31 kernel but
Alpha kernels for karmic are already available for testing. Given your
feedback I'd expect this to be resolved for Karmic. As a result I'm
marking this Fix Released for now since the alpha kernels for karmic are
already available. However, if you are not ready to update to Karmic
just yet I'd encourage you to just keep running the Mainline kernel
builds. And obviously please let us know if you see any regressions if
and when you do upgrade to the karmic kernel (ie reopen the bug by
setting the status back to New).

I would also say this would qualify for a Stable Release Update to
Jaunty. However, without knowing the exact patch to backport it makes
this difficult. Additionally without knowing the exact patch to
backport it's hard to know the regression potential it has. With that
said, I'll wait to open a Jaunty nomination until an exact patch to
backport can be determined. See
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for more info. Thanks.
