Public bug reported:

The "Package Installer" dialog that appears when you double click a .deb
file should, when the package is already installed, show a "Remove
Package" button that does the equivalent of:

sudo apt-get remove <package-name>

alongside the existent "Reinstall Package" button.

(it would be great if the icon shown for an installed package was
different to an none-installed one too - but should that be a separate
bug report?)

Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 9.04

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
