I face te same problem. As I remember the plugin has been the same since it was released (there was no update from Adobe) and still it was more stable when I was running Intrepid. At the moment I'm facing the problem with:
http://nitrome.com/games/doubleedged/ but other games tend to crash firefox as well. I'm using firefox from Jaunty and flash plugin downloaded from Adobe.
