Public bug reported: When the server password is expired, Ubuntu gives no error message at all.
Ubuntu 9.04 x86 - up to date as of Wed Jul 8 18:43:33 UTC 2009 Steps: - log in (as main/only user) - select menu Places / Computer in File Browser window - select "Network" in left pane (location changes to network:/// ) there is already a near computer shown as icon - double click the computer icon - fill out the dialog (user, pass) After few seconds, the user/pass dialog reappears. Repeat, until bored. (a semilong story about what everything I tried to resolve the problem - not printed here) Checking with smbclient reveals that the used password was expired. Luckily I know that the Ubuntu GUI is next to useless and have experience with command line. If this would happen to my father, we would give me a call as say "When you get home set mu up Windows, which works" (relation to bug #1 ?) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- connecting to SMB share gives no error code https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/397127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
