line 27, /var/lib/dpkg/info/vmware-player.postinst calls
/usr/bin/vmware-config-network.pl
This question is asked by the (upstream) vmware-config script that does not use
debconf as far as I know. I hope I also answered the question by Michael.
The vmware-config script should / could be modified to use debconf.
However, I don't know if it is possible based on licensing (and not
technical) reasons.
