I don't understand your question. I have not installed any alsa outside the one carried by the repos, and the problem is there. A current workaround for me is to specify the model to toshiba-s06, and upstream this issue was identified and supposedly fix in an update that is not currently carried by the jaunty repos. Someone here said that the version included in karmic did not solve the issue either.
