It looks like that in CUPS 1.4.x the default settings which are set in
the /etc/cups/ppd/*.ppd files are not conserved when the PPD file is
replaced using the "lpadmin -p <printer> -m <new PPD>" command. This
worked perfectly with CUPS 1.3.
