To be honest I don't quite follow the reasoning here: if a user uses a
program like alsamixer to change e. g. mixer levels or 3D sound
settings, it is not unreasonable to assume that he can use the very same
program to change it back? Or did you find a program which
noninteractively mucks around with the alsa settings and breaks them?
