Thank you for packaging this, Darxus! I've been testing these patches today and find the interactivity to have increased quite a great deal with an overall feeling of general speed improvement and without the massive slow downs I've experienced before. I'm still playing around with it to determine if there are any performance regressions I can notice (typing into this input box in firefox actually briefly pauses every few seconds leaving me about 4-5 letters behind at times--I haven't noticed anything else). I would definitely put my support behind at least a further investigation of these patches for being included into the mainline ubuntu.
