Same problem here guys, NM can't connect to internet through DSL connections.
I've verified that DNS resolution works, though. Ping and web surfing does not. Interesting thing is that a simple 'pppoeconfig' brings the connection up full and working. So it is not a hardware problem. Let me know if you need any other information to sort this out.
