I can confirm this still plagues 9.10 i386 alternate also. Official message:
Please insert the disc labeled: 'Ubuntu 9.10 _Karmic Koala_ - Release i386 (20091027)' in the drive '/cdrom' and press enter. Both options, "Go Back" and "Continue" result in the display of the same menu. This is on an HP dc7100 with: - Sony Optiarc DVD-RW AW-G170A - Western Digital Caviar SATA 40GB WD400BD-60LR Please fix this linginger issue.
