I found the solution for me, it was pretty typical of what I've experienced in the past.
All I did was go to Terminal and type in 'alsamixer' and raise the Master and Front volumes. The sound quality is great. This problem and solution were also the same for me in 32-bit versions I have used on this motherboard and one more (I don't know the name of the other motherboard, but it was part of the a1532n model pre-built desktop from HP if that information can help). Maybe by default these values can be raised when people install Ubuntu for the first time? Thanks for the great OS team Ubuntu, and congratulations on the 9.10 release. I'm really enjoying it :) -- No sound in Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
