Today Update! "old post: "During ubuntu install I manually reformated the fat32 filesystems to the needed ubuntu filesystems. This might also screw the mbr, I will test later today.""
By re-installing ubuntu 9.10 on /dev/sda and reformating the filesystem and even disabling "grub/mbr install" in the "advanced menu" at the "summary page" of the installer still the first 440 bytes of the mbr gets broken. "fixing manually with dd still works!" Disabling/uncheckbox mbr/grub install in "advanced settings" still breaks mbr... I will try a manually install to external usb disk and see if it still breaks the mbr of the internal disk... keep ya updated! -- told ubiquity to install grub to sda6, but it breaks grub on mbr https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/409575 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
