Still broken in Ubuntu 9.04 amd64, telnet 0.17-36, Finnish keymap.

Anton: AltGr-Ctrl-9 doesn't work for me. What's "strg"? Is it Ctrl in
German and Spanish keyboard?

Malev: Finnish keyboard doesn't have a single key for right square
bracket ']'. Instead, you press AltGr-9 to get that character.

In addition to escape character not working, it echoes on the screen and
doesn't work:
$ telnet localhost 80
Trying ::1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^] AltGr-Ctrl-9 doesn't work...

Just like in 2006, escape character with Finnish keyboard is Ctrl-5.
