The solution posted by Franz and ke4jgx worked for me too. However, wireless stopped working when I rebooted. I had to install bcmwl-kernel-source to have the wifi module recognised initially, and after installing the alsa backport wireless has been removed from my network connections.
I tried removing and installing bcmwl-kernel-source from synaptic, but this didn't help."'Broadcom STA wireless driver" is listed in the restricted hardware manager as not being active, but I can't activate it. This was not listed before my first install of bcmwl-kernel-source. Has anyone managed to get the microphone and wireless working?
