I have got myself a cm106 (or cm6206?) based external usb soundcard, because I gave up on getting the internal soundcard working: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/494879 Anyway. With my new external soundcard, sound is finally working. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like I have any Master Volume. Under playback in the alsamixer I have: Microphone, Speaker(2ch), Speaker1(8ch). (The Gnome Alsa Mixer shows PCM, PCM, Mic, Speaker, Speaker - doesn't seem that I can control the channels individually here. I think PCM, PCM is for recording) The Speaker with 2channels doesn't seem to control anything (optical out?). Speaker1 controls the channels just fine. The problem is that I don't have any Master Volume to control the output volume.
