I found a workaround for this, which is to execute "echo 128 > /sys/block/sdb/device/max_sectors" as root". The problem is that that command is needed after every boot, hence I request the Kernel Team to include the fix for the M1 by default. (The exact problem is that the M1 reports higher transfer speed than the one it really suports and It hangs because of that)
