Just checked with
http://people.canonical.com/~evand/wubi/lucid/wubi-r178.exe and still
got a similar message which disappeared after using "safely remove
device". (My machine which seems to be affected is an older one
(previously described), which I currently use as an Ubuntu-based server,
so I'm not in a position to do much troubleshooting without taking down
my web site & email server)
