Jonathan. Unfortunately, the Lucid version of Ubuntu One no longer has the notifications nor the applet that changes. So the youtube videos are probably outdated. If you have already uninstalled it, you can reinstall it with Synaptic Package Manager or Software Center, it's easy to find as "Ubuntu One" in the search box. I have amd64 and didn't have any problems installing it.
