Thanks for the quick response! As it might be useful to spot the issue, attached is the original PDF I downloaded. Since Evince wouldn't print it, I 'recreated' a PDF using the 'print to pdf' functionality within the print dialog. That's the one attached in my original report. This wouldn't print either and gives the mentioned errors when using 'pdf2ps'.
The original, however, doesn't give errors on 'pdf2ps', but does give the same 'Print error' dialog when trying to print.
