OK.. found a workaround.. but not a really good one... turns out that this error was related to my using a Router... and when I disconnected the router and hooked my comp straight to the modem, the problem of "-5 - No address associated with hostname" was resolved. Probably others can try the same too to see if it helps...
On looking further, I found that someone else has stumbled upon this too...
