@ sles: Whenever I notice my rt2500pci's (linksys wmp54g) connection is slow, I right-click the NetworkManager applet on the Ubuntu desktop, deselect "Enable Wireless", wait 2 seconds, then enable it again. This usually works for a couple of hours. Sometimes it's only a few minutes, sometimes more than a day. Maybe I'll write a script for this one day.
