Thanks for all the posts of ps aux output after doing a 'sudo start rc- sysinit' after a bad boot.
>From the ps aux reports that I requested in #104 for when cupsd does not start, it appears that irqbalance, winbindd also are not starting for most people. Since we moved this bug from a cups bug to an upstart bug I see that: http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/upstart/+bug/543506 is very similar to this one.
