Unfortunately, it did not work in my case. I was trying to do an update from Kubuntu 6.06LTS so, I was using the bootstrap method. There are either steps missing from the instruction or simply didn't work. The instructions need "sudo" in front of the "mount" commands. Everything seemed to be going well, everything was working until I did the final "Fetch Updates". I did restart the Adept Manager per the instructions before doing this. No upgrade option appeared and when I clicked on "Fetch Updates". Then I tried clicking on "Full Upgrade" and the "Apply" button was not made available. I tried restarting the Adapt Manager, no change. Attempted to reboot but system was no longer usable. Thankfully, this was just a VMware image and of no real importance.
