Hi, I dont mean to outsource Ubuntu design to MS, but have people seen the leaked slides for an MS AppStore? http://msftkitchen.com/2010/06/windows-8-plans-leaked-numerous-details-revealed.html
This particular slide: http://msftkitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Windows-8-Windows-Store-06.png indicates that at MS, Install = Run. I tend to agree in so far as when a user installs an app they may expect it to launch once installed? Though, when installing multiple apps this would not be desirable. Or at least I install an app only to immediately launch it, so it makes sense if s-c could streamline this scenario to minimise clicks and pointing etc. Maybe some user testing needs to be conducted, trialling some UI approaches to this scenario? In Windows its common for installers to include a checkbox so the user can indicate if they would like an app to launch when installation has completed. This to me seems a good compromise.
