Hi Marty. Good to hear that I am not alone. Sadly, it's still unresolved. The microscope is not recognized by the UVC driver and I have not tried any other driver or hack or patch yet. In the meantime I subscribed to the UVC developers mailing list to get some insight and also read about and tried the advise from the UVC driver and tools FAQ (http://www.ideasonboard.org/uvc/faq/), saying 'How do I find out whether my camera is a UVC device or not?' The result was disappointing: it is not. Or let's say the device is not reporting "14 Video" but "255 Vendor Specific Class".
See the attached log file that contains all the information I got. Currently, I'm somehow discouraged to even post on the UVC developers mailing list to ask about the microscope because of their earlier reaction I read to a request for a "255 Vendor Specific Class" device, that was only one sentence long: 'Unfortunately your device is not UVC compatible'. Sooo... maybe this 'iPassion 1b3b:2936 / 1b3b:2937 not UVC compliant' issue needs to be hacked to be resolved or focused to another webcam driver?
