The error reported in the logs is:
debconf: DbDriver "config": /var/cache/debconf/config.dat is locked by
another process: Resource temporarily unavailable
This is not a bug in the pam package. It may be a bug in a different
package that was holding this database open. If you have not rebooted
this system since this bug was reported, you may still be able to find
out which package is responsible by running 'sudo fuser -v
/var/cache/debconf/config.dat' in a terminal and posting the results
here. If you have rebooted since then, it's impossible now to determine
the cause of the error and we should close this bug report. In that
case, simply rerunning the upgrade again should be sufficient to get
your packages properly installed.
