Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. It's possible that it has been fixed already, because I tried it with yesterday's nightly build, and didn't have a problem. Or maybe I was doing it wrong. I had Software Centre up, installed gimp and gramps, no such problem (didn't even get the message about rebuilding catalogues). For now, I'll leave this 'new'
