I confirm this happens on the latest wine version from the Ubuntu Maverick repo. Essentially, with older versions of ubuntu (which I still have running), when you place a DVD/CD in the drive, it is automounted and a /media/DISK link is created and wine sees this when it's created automatically. In latest version of Ubuntu, the /media/DISK folder is still automatically created but wine no longer sees it and thus wine apps cannot see the disks.
Using the configure wine app, one can manually assign a disk to the media/DISK folder and it works but it is only good for that one disk. Any new DVDs inserted, one has to reconfigure manually again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554642 Title: no cd/dvd drive detection for wine in lucid -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
