Im using Mint 10 which is based on Maverick and im experiencing the same 
problem so it was NOT fixed in Maverick. 
However it was also effecting my previous debian squeeze installation so if you 
have a fix you might want to share it with the debian folks.  Im hoping a 
Maverick fix will come soon or else I'll go back to Mint 9 which is based on 
Lucid and apply the Lucid fix.
