@Andy: Sorry for the late reply. I have just seen your advice in this bug entry. Yes it works!!! I switched the "Ringing device" to "Default" and it worked! Thanks a lot! Actually, here there are two entries for Default in Ekiga: One is greyed out and was set by default. It does not give a ring. The second one, which was not greyed out, works.
